Why He's Included and How to Use Effectively

He's basically a warrior who can hit hard with a two-handed sword in combination with a Girdle of Giant Strength, but with a few other perks thrown in. He can use Dispel Magic at triple-strength, which can really come in handy during some situations. His True Seeing ability allows him to passively get rid of enemies' illusions. He can also summon an Astral Deva during Throne of Bhaal.

When combining Carsomyr with the Cloak of Balduran (available through Tactics) and Kaligun's Amulet of Magic Resistance, he can turn into a very effective mage killer. He can basically step right up to a Mage with little fear for his own safety, and then bring down the Mage's protections with a strike of Carsomyr, leaving the Mage vulnerable to getting killed soon after.

He also packs Azuredge as a reliable way to instantly kill undead at a distance.
