THE FIVE FLAGONS INN

This luxurious inn is renowned throughout Athkatla, if not throughout Amn - at least among Halflings. The owner, Samuel Thunderburp, is a former adventurer turned innkeeper and an old friend of Mazzy Fentan. Besides lodgings and the main room, the building also houses a successful theater in the cellar ... except I have been told that the theater hasn't been all that successful lately. Maybe you should look into that?

  1. Here is the exit back to the Bridge District.

  2. Here is Samuel Thunderburp. He claims to have every drink imaginable available but his selection is actually rather limited (though certainly exquisite). He also sells lodgings if you're tired.

If Mazzy is in your party, she is an old friend of Samuel's and he gives her a pair of Boots of Stealth.

If Haer'Dalis is in your party, make sure to return here to speak to Samuel who will then give Haer'Dalis a Diamond.

This is also where you can find Haer'Dalis if you don't let him join your party at the end of the Free Haer'Dalis and Planar Prison quests, or if you drop him at a later time.

  3. Here are the stairs up to the second floor.

  4. Here are the stairs down to the cellar where you will find a theater.

  1. Here are the stairs back down to the first floor.

In the room to the left is a gentleman who will have various exchanges depending on your party. For example, Korgan will gladly show the man how to drink from a speckled bottle.

  2. If you side with the Shadow Thieves in Chapter 3, this is where you will meet Caehan and Jaylos, a couple of traitors who are defecting to the other guild.

  3. If you have Jan Jansen in your party and you are doing the Jan Jansen Returns Home quest for him, this is where you will need to kill a couple of Githyanki for a mysterious character known as The Hidden.

  1. Here are the stairs up to the first floor. When you first enter, you are asked to pay admission to see the play. By all means cough up the 5 GP.

The coffin at (x=230, y=1110) contains 101 GP.

  2. Here you will watch the play which Biff the Understudy manages to ruin completely. Once the actors have been boo'ed off the stage, Raelis Shai comes forward to apologize and ask if by any chance there are any adventurers in the audience...

If you are playing a Bard and you accept the theater as your stronghold, this is also where you will meet the director Higgold in connection with most of the Bard Stronghold quests.

  3. When you have found Haer'Dalis and the Portal Gem for Raelis Shai, this fireplace is where she opens a planar portal, and where you enter the Planar Prison.

  4. Here is a small crate at (x=1730, y=830) with Scrolls of Ghost Armor, Confusion, and Stoneskin.

If you search the tower at (x=1770, y=715), you will find a very small container with a Flamedance Ring and a Bloodstone Gem.

  5. After the show you will find Raelis Shai and her actors here. She will ask you to find the missing actor Haer'Dalis who has been abducted by an evil wizard. Of course there is more to the story, but what else is new?

Incidentally, this is also the Bard Class quest that will end with you being offered the theater as your stronghold.
