THE NEUTRAL CLERIC STRONGHOLD: THE TEMPLE OF HELM

If you are a Cleric of Neutral alignment, you will be offered a position in the Temple of Helm upon completion of the Unseeing Eye quest. High Watcher Oisig sends you to speak to Acolyte Byron, whom you can find at 3 in the Temple of Helm. Byron will give you your tasks.

First Stronghold Quest: Glinden's Wife is Unfaithful

Acolyte Byron tells you that your job will be to offer guidance to those who seek the advice of the church. The people who ask for help usually come back a day or two later to tell you how your advice worked out, and Byron will be back a while later to evaluate you. With that, he sends you the first seeker of your wisdom.

  1. Your first client is a merchant named Glinden. He and his wife used to be close but lately he has spent too much time at work, and his wife has found a lover.

  2. Helm's way is clear: Duty is all! Tell him to remind his wife of her vows.

  3. Go back to the temple one day later, and Glinden will be back to tell you that he and his wife are together again.

  4. Another two days later, Acolyte Byron is back, and well pleased with your resolution to the matter. The party gains 20,000 XP, and Byron sends you another young seeker of your wisdom.

Second Stronghold Quest: Ti'Vael has Killed a Man

The next seeker is a Dwarf named Ti'Vael. He recently got into a duel and killed his opponent – but the killing happened in a fit of rage when the other was prepared to surrender.

  1. As a follower of Helm, it is your duty to uphold law and order. So tell Ti'Vael what he probably already knows very well, that he should turn himself over to the courts and let them decide whether this was murder, or an honest duel. Ti'Vael goes off to do your bidding.

  2. You won't see Ti'Vael again but three days later Acolyte Byron is back and very pleased with the way you solved the quest. The party gains 20,000 XP and Byron sends you the next adherent to ask your advice.

Third Stronghold Quest: Rania has Lost her Faith

Your third client is a young woman named Rania who has lost her faith.

  1. You have gotten the point by now, haven't you? Tell her to remember her duty to the church!

  2. Which Rania isn't very happy about. She leaves the church.

  3. But when next Acolyte Byron comes to see you, three days later, he is nonetheless happy with the advice you gave Rania. The party gains another 20,000 XP.

Fourth Stronghold Quest: Cotirso Wants Your Position

The next in line is Cotirso who is dissatisfied with the fact that you have been promoted in the church over him, despite the many years he has served the cause of Helm!

  1. Cotirso demands satisfaction, so accept his challenge. And kill him.

  2. This time Acolyte Byron is back immediately to commend you on your handling of the matter. Another 20,000 XP for the party.

Final Stronghold Quest: The War of the Temples

Byron would like to let you mind your normal duties but there is a graver matter to see to: The followers of Talos have decided to attack the Temple of Lathander. To maintain balance, the followers of Helm must put themselves between the two forces to ensure that neither is obliterated.

Please note that from now on all followers of Talos in the Temple District will be hostile!

  1. Go out to the Temple District and go to the entrance to the Temple of Lathander at 3. Here you will find several dead followers of Lathander and several hostile followers of Talos. Kill the Talassans.

  2. Once the Talassans lie dead, speak to Acolyte Lara from the Lathander temple and convince her not to seek revenge.

  3. Return to the Temple of Helm and speak to Acolyte Byron again. The party receives 35,000 XP and 1,000 GP for this final service to Helm.

And this concludes the Stronghold quests for the Neutral Cleric.
