Ostagar - The Battle

Ostagar

  1. Battle of OstagarThis part of the game starts with a cutscene that you can think of as a homage to the scenes from the Two Towers movie. This is where you start, and you have to get across the rampway to the east to get to the tower.

  2. Here you'll run into two soldiers who inform you that the Tower of Ishal has been captured by Darkspawn who infiltrated from the lower chambers. It falls to you and Alistair to reclaim the tower and then light the beacon. The two soldiers will join your party as temporary members.

  3. Here is where you'll encounter your first wave of Darkspawn, mostly Genlocks and the odd Hurlock. They'll be attacking other soldiers. Don't worry about the soldiers. Worry about getting as good a jump on the Darkspawn as you can, hitting as many of them as you can with spells, or quickly taking out the foremost among them, or both.

  4. Here is the next wave of Darkspawn, led by an Alpha Hurlock. Same approach is called for.

  5. Here is the entrance to the Tower of Ishal - First Floor.
