Explore Sigil, the City of Doors. The doors
serve as the town's gateway to everything and everywhere that
matters. Step through one door and enter the halls of Ysgard,
or turn down a particular alley and discover the Abyss. There
are more gateways in Sigil than can be imagined. But there's
a lot more out there than just Sigil. Get outside the city
and there's the planes themselves: the throne of the gods,
the battleground of the eternal Blood War, and home to more
horrors and wonders than ever existed on any prime world.
There's enough crusades, exploits, treasures, and mysteries
to keep a band of adventurers busy for centuries to come.
All it takes is the right door, so step right through.
In Planescape: Torment, you play a nameless, scarred, immortal
on a quest to discover his past, his identity, and his role
in the conflict over the nature of reality. The brilliant
role-playing and adventure game focuses on the "Planescape"
campaign setting of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons game,
and combines the best elements of Interplay's phenomenally
successful Baldur's Gate with an enthralling story line, well-written
dialogue, and beautiful artwork and graphics.
In an inspired choice, Black Isle Studios, the developer
of Planescape: Torment, has chosen to provide the player,
at least initially, with as little details about the story
as possible. After viewing a mysterious introductory movie,
players guide The Nameless One on a journey through the bleak
city of Sigil and its underground catacombs. The story leads
from there to the bizarre realities of alternate planes of
existence, where belief and thought determine the laws of
physics. Through dialogue with hundreds of nonplayer characters,
puzzle solving, and point-and-click combat, The Nameless One
discovers clues about his identity and the circumstances surrounding
his condition.
Gamers overwhelmed by detailed role-playing games will find
Planescape: Torment easier to grasp; players can freely switch
between three different character classes (Fighter, Mage,
Thief) for The Nameless One as the game progresses, and learning
the combat and magic system--with a simple point-and-click
interface--takes only a few minutes. Literally hundreds of
weapons, items, spells, and "tattoos" can be collected
and affixed to The Nameless One or any of the several party
members acquired during the course of the game. If you're
a fan of role-playing or adventure games, Planescape: Torment's
engrossing world creates a must-have gaming experience.
Features:
- Fascinating, unique setting
- Engrossing story
- Rich graphics and spell effects
- Intriguing dialogue
- Built with the Bioware Infinity Engine, the same as Baldur's
Gate

Dragonshard is a real-time strategy experience
based in the mystical world of Eberron, the acclaimed new
Dungeons & Dragons realm. Within this wholly imaginative
setting lives an inventive gameplay fusion: dramatic RTS play
is affected by the risks and rewards of a thrilling RPG-styled
underworld.
As players direct troops over the land, they also plunge
smaller, hero-led parties below ground to an RPG-modeled world
of beasts, battles, and bounty. Experience and items gained
in this underworld result in great powers and abilities above
ground.
Using magic, weaponry, and skilled maneuvers, players command
armies from varying races to control, protect--or destroy--the
powerful Heart of Siberys. Obtaining this omnipotent artifact
will unleash its full forces, good or evil, upon the entire
world.
Features:
- The first Dungeons & Dragons real-time strategy experience
- The first D&D game from the all-new Eberron campaign
setting

action: dramatic RTS war above ground and critical RPG-styled
battles in dungeons below
- Four ranges of controllable units: powerful champions,
heroic captains, trainable henchmen, and nearly unstoppable
battlefield juggernauts
- Unit development based on 'Experience Points', allowing
players to "level up" units--an added RPG twist
to the classic RTS gameplay structure
- An innovative village grid system--the "Nexus System"--where
choice and placement of buildings can specifically affect
units’ powers
- Co-op and head-to-head multiplayer modes; for 1 to 8 players
- Three warring factions (in multiplayer modes), each with
its own history, campaigns, unique strengths... and weaknesses
- Game story by Eberron creator Keith Baker
- A variety of threatening environments, all with the "Hyper
Terrain" feature, creating real-time terrain deformation
in the wake of unit movements

Chaos threatens to overwhelm the Sword Coast.
The state of Amn is under siege to the south, the High Moor
is being overrun in the north, and the region around Baldur's
Gate is in turmoil. In an area known for its ample resources,
a crippling shortage is slowly developing for the metal that
is used throughout the Realms for everything from swords to
forks--iron. When iron ore reaching the region is smelted,
the resulting wares are plagued with brittleness such that
they crack and break with little more than normal use. What
is worse, trading caravans coming from all directions into
Baldur's Gate are under constant attack from bandits and cutthroats
who loot not for gold and gems (although they often take those
too), but for iron.
* * *
Baldur's Gate is a near-perfect adaptation of
the classic tabletop, role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons.
Six separate races and eight core character classes, from
which the player can create a completely original character,
are available. The game world is well painted, and players
are free to explore this wonderfully textured game environment
in any way they see fit, all against the backdrop of a thoughtfully
conceived and versatile plot.
You begin the game as a young orphan living
with your stepfather within the safe confines of a scholarly
community. It is a happy and idyllic life until your stepfather
is killed and it becomes clear that you are intended to be
next. You, as the young protagonist, then set out to discover
just what kind of a mess you're in. During the adventure,
you recruit a number of personable allies, battle foes, delve
into dungeons, trek across wilderness, solve puzzles, and
complete a plethora of epic quests that are seamlessly sown
into the fabric of the overall plot. The story line unfolds
in response to your choices to reveal your character's true
identity as well as the nature and motive of your enemies.
This 1998 Role-Playing Game of the Year is a masterpiece
and the standard by which all such games will be judged for
the foreseeable future. Groundbreaking 32-bit graphics, 3-D
sound, multiplayer options, and a friendly real-time game
engine are blended with a depth of plot in a way that redefines
the genre.

A new chapter in the popular adventure game,
based on the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, which, in
turn, is based on the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons game system.
Essentially an add-on to the original version of the game,
this chapter asks you to continue with the character you created
in the original.
* * *
Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast delivers
what we've all been screaming for--more Baldur's Gate. Although
it does not significantly extend the story line, it does provide
enough new goodies to augment an already great game.
Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast provides four new
areas for you to explore, all of which share the richness
that made Baldur's Gate a groundbreaking masterpiece. Players
are given the opportunity to explore a few new islands, visit
a suburb of Baldur's Gate, and engage in a good old-fashioned
dungeon crawl beneath Durlag's Tower. Players can also embark
on a quest that will take them back into the city of Baldur's
Gate itself. These new quests tend to be even more involved
and challenging than those found in the initial game, as they
gravitate more toward puzzle solving than pure combat.
The additional areas are at least as satisfying as any found
in the original, featuring three new types of monsters as
well as new magic items, enemies, and spells, all of which
are woven seamlessly into the game play. Those who are already
deeply involved in a campaign or have already completed the
game need not start over to take advantage of the expansion.
Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast raises the character
experience cap by at least one level and can be integrated
at any time during your campaign, easily providing an additional
20 hours of game play.
For a Baldur's Gate enthusiast, the four new areas alone
make this expansion worth having. An added treat is the included
software utility that allows players to speak to each other
online via microphone, giving multiplayer games a live role-playing
feel. Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast may tend to
give you more of the same, but in this case, you wouldn't
have it any other way.
Features:
- New areas just as good as first ones
- Powerful new magic items and increased experience cap
- Enables your BG characters to get tougher, ready for Baldur's
Gate 2
- Free online speech software

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn is the sequel
to the "Game of the Year" Baldur's Gate. Having
sold over 1 million units worldwide, it remains a top-selling
PC product. Baldur's Gate II builds upon the success of the
franchise and takes the RPG experience to new levels of high-fantasy
gaming. Gameplay-enhancing features include 3D graphics support,
dazzling new spell effects, improved multiplayer capabilities,
subquests based on class, new classes and a new character
race. Baldurs Gate II contains more spells, weapons and monsters
than any other licensed AD&D game to date. It is the continuation
of the Baldur's Gate epic plot developed by Bioware Corp (MDK2,
Baldur's Gate, Tales of the Sword Coast, Neverwinter Nights)
and published by Black Isle Studios (Planescape Torment, Fallout
2, Icewind Dale).
In Shadows of Amn, you face an uncertain future, with a lineage
that tempts the unscrupulous to use you and the ignorant to
fear you. You will face a foe that views you as no more than
chattel and that toys with you at every turn; a villain whose
goals go beyond a quest for power and who threatens to use
a lost companion as a tool for unparalleled destruction. The
choices to be made will not be easy, and you may have to align
with the lesser of evils, even though all evils cannot help
but seem equal. In the end you will have mourned lost loves,
celebrated new ones, and had adventures that profoundly shaped
the Realms.
Features:
- An epic continuation of the plot that was started in Baldur's
Gate
- Over 300 spells like: time stop, finger of death, chain
lightning, and more

days to complete

- Real-time gameplay with the ability to pause at any moment
and custom script your characters
- Improved multiplayer support for up to six players for
the ultimate roleplaying experience

pack to Baldur's Gate II, expands and enriches the gameplay
experience by adding several new locations, high-level spells,
and powerful new characters to the Baldur's Gate II game.

unravel the mysteries of the Dungeon of Watcher's Keep and
explore other new areas, such as the City of Saradush, the
Fortified Monastery of Amkethran, Sendai's Underdark Fortress,

journey, characters may reach up to level 40, made possible
with a raised experience cap of 8 million points, quite possibly
the highest level ever achieved by characters in any Advanced
Dungeons & Dragons computer game. Also included in the
quest are more than 40 powerful high-level spells and abilities.
The Wild Mage Character Kit will also be added to the already
extensive class list, allowing gamers to create a powerful

It's not easy being a child of a god. In Baldur's
Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, your character quickly comes to this
conclusion after being imprisoned and tortured by a wizard
with an unhealthy interest in your parentage. So begins this
ambitious RPG based on the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
game. Shadows of Amn develops the plot lines, characters and
events introduced in the first game into a mature, genuinely
interesting fantasy tale and you will be pleasantly surprised
by Shadows of Amn's bold story arcs. Baldur's Gate served
as a proving ground for the refined game mechanics evident
in Shadows of Amn. Now major events are afoot, and the character's
choices have a real impact on the universe of the Forgotten
Realms.
The game's artificial intelligence has been vastly improved,
and the player has many more choices for NPC AI scripts and
party communication. Keeping with Shadows of Amn's more mature
theme, the party interaction even goes so far as to include
possible love interests for your character.
This double pack also includes the BG2 expansion pack, Throne
of Bhaal. There are hordes more monsters to fight, a couple
of new classes and kits to explore (the Wild Mage, for example),
new treasures and artefacts, new quests and new dungeons and
the ability to reach an unprecedented Level 40. Why wouldn't
you want to meet strange new creatures, unleash strange new
spells and listen to even more bizarre voice acting from the
lovable Minsc? But the real reason to get this is to see the
massive story finally reach a conclusion. There won't be a
Baldur's Gate III and Throne of Bhaal lets you see the fate
of the character that began as Gorion's young ward so many
years ago in the original Baldur's Gate.
A strong plot backed by strong technology makes Baldur's
Gate 2 and the Throne of Bhaal expansion stand out as one
of the best RPGs you'll ever play. Fans of the AD&D game
will love the classic AD&D feel, and fans of the popular
Forgotten Realms setting will delight in the people, places
and politics found here.
Features:
- Collection of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, Baldur's
Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, and a bonus CD containing additional
weapons and armor, set of four character portraits, as well
as tracks from the original game soundtrack
- Epic Dungeons and Dragons adventure
- Isometric, top-down view gives a bird's eye view of the
action
- 3-D height maps for realistic travel over terrain--actually
climb stairs, fall into pits, and traverse rocky areas
- Rain, snow, fog, lightning, all occuring in real-time
- Explore unseen lands as you take part in an epic conflict
that will define your future, and create your legend

Icewind Dale incorporates the award-winning
gameplay elements from Baldur's Gate, offering players a chance
to hone their combat skills while exploring the enormous caverns
and dungeons beneath the Forgotten Realms. Players create
a party of adventurers in the frigid north. They must combat
monstrous cyclopses and frost giants that dwarf the player
characters as they search for an evil lying deep within the
Spine of the World. Icewind Dale offers character advancement
from levels 1 through 15 in the most recent adaptation of
AD&D rules.
* * *
Icewind Dale intentionally avoids a sophisticated role-playing-game
plot in favor of classic Advanced Dungeons & Dragons dungeoneering.
The game is set in the frigid corner of the Forgotten Realms
made famous by author R.A. Salvatore's novels. Many fantasy
fans will be familiar with the popular setting, but this time
you get to create the heroes, and the adventures are your
own.
Veterans of Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment will find
BioWare's Infinity game engine instantly recognizable and
usable. AD&D fans will be pleased with the interpretation
of AD&D 2nd Edition rules. With a few exceptions (no kits,
no Drow player characters, no two-weapon fighting), you can
assume that if it's in the rule books it's in Icewind Dale.
Players can create six characters from standard AD&D
2nd Edition races and classes as they set off to find an ancient
evil buried in the Spine of the World. Combat occurs in real
time (no turns), but the action can be paused at any time
in order to issue new orders, prepare spells, or respond to
a new threat. The designers keep combat fast by allowing players
to assign an artificial-intelligence combat script to individual
characters. Your party can encounter a minor monster, fire
arrows as it approaches, attack it with fighters when it gets
close, and then get healed by the cleric when the fighting
is done--all without your intervention.
Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment kept players hooked
with an engrossing story line and, in the case of Planescape,
excellent writing. Specifically designed as a more action-oriented
"hack and slash" RPG, Icewind Dale relies on combat
and character advancement as its own reward. While it lacks
the random dungeons and incredible magic items of Diablo,
the high experience point cap and the ability to create all
six of your party members make Icewind Dale a worthy addition
to any AD&D fan's game library.
Features:
- Utilizes an enhanced version of the Bioware Infinity Engine
as used in Baldur's Gate
- Ability to create your entire party
- Faithful re-creation of the Icewind Dale region as detailed
by TSR and R. A. Salvatore
- High experience point cap lets players wield tremendous
power--and face equally powerful foes
- Developed by Black Isle Studios, the group behind the
bestselling role playing games Fallout 2 and Planescape:
Torment
- A completely new Advanced Dungeons & Dragons adventure
with an epic storyline in the tradition of Baldur's Gate
- Includes 3D technology developed for Baldur's Gate II
that allows for incredible spell and environment effects
- New spells, equipment and abilities provide a higher level
of gameplay
- Multiplayer support for up to 6 players over LAN or Internet
connections

Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter is the first
expansion pack for the role-playing game Icewind Dale. Like
all expansion packs, it requires you to own the original title
in order to play. Heart of Winter shares the same time frame
with Icewind Dale--the year 1281, the Year of the Cold Soul--and
its five new major areas are located just north of the original
game's locale. Players can take their ninth level or above
Icewind Dale characters to Heart of Winter via a small house
in the great tree town of Kuldahar. Alternately, players who
have beaten Icewind Dale can import living or deceased characters
to Heart of Winter, as long as at least one character survived
with the same ninth level or above restriction. Or players
can simply generate a new party.
Both Heart of Winter and Icewind Dale use AD&D Second
Edition rules; however some of the special powers and abilities
in the third edition are available in the expansion. For example,
thieves have access to sneak attack and crippling strike abilities,
and the new spell progression tables for rangers and paladins
have been taken from the third edition rules. In addition
to new areas, powers, and abilities, Heart of Winter features:
new portraits, new character sound sets, new monsters, 50
new spells, 800 x 600 resolution, drop-away interface, gem
bags, potion bags, scroll cases, hot keys that highlight normal
doors and ground items, and the ability to buy multiple items
from stores. The biggest change is the ability for all character
classes to reach 30th level, and druids can advance higher
still.
Features:
- Expansion pack to role-playing game Icewind Dale
- All character classes can advance to 30th level, and Druids
can advance much higher
- Uses AD&D Second Edition rules, with some special
powers and abilities from third edition
- New special abilities for Paladins, Rangers, Thieves,
Bards, and Druids
- Players can import their 9th-level (or higher) Icewind
Dale characters

A call has gone out to all those willing to face insurmountable
odds in defense of the Ten Towns. Will you heed the call to
arms and face the greatest threat to the Spine of the World?
Return to the frigid north of the Forgotten Realms in the
sequel to the critically acclaimed Icewind Dale. This exciting

Icewind Dale II expands upon gameplay elements found in Icewind
Dale, offering players the ability to hone their combat skills

off the Ten-Towns from the rest of Faerun in a bitter power
struggle. A vicious horde of goblins, orcs and bugbears has
gathered beneath the mysterious banner of the Chimera and
is attacking the port town of Targos.
The town of Bremen has fallen, goblin raiders ride the plains,
and a stream of refugees are fleeing southwards to Bryn Shander
and beyond. Fearing that they will be overrun, Targos has
sent out a call for all able-bodied adventurers, soldiers
and mercenaries to sail north to stand with the town's defenders
against the encroaching horde, and it's up to the players'
small band of adventurers to save Targos from destruction.
Yet nothing is as it appears and as the shadow of the horde
falls on Targos, the players find themselves drawn into an
escalating conflict that plunges the region of Icewind Dale
once again, into war.
