About Sir Belisarius

Last updated: February 2008

I joined the SP Boards o' Magick in July 2000 to ask a question about Icewind Dale, but kept coming back. I was in law school and working for a bank at the time, and I think I enjoyed the distraction. The message boards and chat room were fun, and I got to know many of the posters from what we affectionately call "The Golden Age." Which is probably appropriate, since I am getting ANCIENT. Oh yes, the bio...

Belisarius was the name of my very first D&D character that lived for any significant length of time. He was a human paladin, and was knighted during one of our adventures in the Greyhawk campaign. Thus, "Sir" Belisarius was born. Sometime I like to think the character I played growing up helped shape my personal character. I got into law because justice, fairness, duty, and honor are traits important to me; and they also seem to meet many requirements of medieval knights. I'm a lawyer now working in the United States. Some of my hobbies are travelling, listening to music, photography, and chat room thread hijacking.

I don't play games as much anymore, I just don't seem to have the time anymore. But when I did, some of my favorites were: X-Com (UFO & TFTD), anything Star Wars, the Baldur's Gate series, Icewind Dale series, Temple of Elemental Evil, and Neverwinter Nights I & II (although I've barely scratched the surface of II); especially playing multiplayer on ALFA (A Land Far Away). My main job for Sorcerer's Place is to manage the finances; make sure the server bill gets paid, manage the donations account, and purchase upgrades whenever Tal says we need to. I don't mind doing it, it keeps me attached to the community, and that makes me happy.
