About Sprite

I write SP online solutions under my real last name, Bartholomew, since I use them in my professional portfolio, but you probably know me here at Sorcerer's Place as Sprite. I am 30 years old and have a BA in Classics and History, an MBA in Systems Management, and I'm now a PhD student at York University's Schulich School of Business, studying Management Policy (specifically, strategic management and business ethics). I work as a freelance writer developing technical, training and business process documentation for IT companies. My current professional goal is to branch out my writing business to include food writing and game writing but so far my game writing is a Sorcerer's Place exclusive. Continuing an inexplicable tradition among SP online solution writers, I live in Toronto, Canada.

I've been playing RPGs such as Dungeons & Dragons and Shadowrun with dice and real, live people since about 1980 but have only developed an interest in computer role-playing games in the last few years. When I was a little girl, I had a Sinclair Spectrum computer (connected to the TV and an audio-cassette recorder) on which I painstakingly typed out the code for simple Pong-like games I found in computer magazines. Occasionally, I splurged and bought a ready-made game on cassette, but they weren't much more high-tech than the ones in the magazines. Nearly 20 years later, when I again started buying games (this time on CD and DVD! What an advance!) I was amazed to discover how much the computer-game world had changed and I've been an addict ever since.

I first came to Sorcerer's Place in 2001 because I was stuck playing Icewind Dale and wanted a well-lit map of Kresselack's Lair. Fortunately, I found a perfect map and more on Sylvus Moonbow's excellent Icewind Dale walkthrough. I also found the friendly, helpful SP community and message boards almost as addictive as games! In autumn of 2002, I was delighted to be given the opportunity to write the online solution for Icewind Dale II, which was a joint effort with my husband (also a Bartholomew, he posts here as Gnolyn Lochbreaker). I am presently adding some new material to the extant Baldur's Gate II walkthrough, and will be writing the Greyhawk: Temple Of Elemental Evil walkthrough later in 2003.
