    That entirely depends on what you are looking for in a walkthrough. If it's simply, in X room there is a Y monster and a Z treasure, there are plenty of those in the Walkthrough section, so just pick one that has in its description that it is comprehensive. There are a couple, however, that offer game play advice. Those can either be quite informative or irritating, depending on whether you play along the lines described. For example, there's one that looks at it from the good and evil perspective, talks about what NPC's should be taken, what stuff to give them, when to do what quests, etc. That may be too much info or that may be exactly what you are looking for. That one can be found seventh down on the walkthrough page.

    In my mind there is no question that Dan Simpson has the best walkthrough for BG2 (and for probably all of the infinity games).

    I'm not sure which one is his on sorcerers.net. I always thought it strange that they don't identify the authors of the walkthoughs.

    I'm the author of the walkthrough to which DMC referred. And, I've no ego about stating that relative to everything else, Dan Simpson's walkthrough is the best and most comprehensive there is. I've said so before in my IWD2 walkthrough. It's the eighth from the top, just below mine.

    Be that as it may, the existence of these forums and forums elsewhere on the net are proof that many gamers still struggle with the games they play. So ... I wrote mine as an alternative approach that takes things a bit further (which won't be for everybody), or adding my two cents' worth for whoever is willing to listen.

    Beren. I very much enjoyed your walkthroughs, both for BG2 and IWD2.

    I'm not sure I would liked to have read them before I'd played the games on my own a couple of times, but I found your personalised style more engaging than other guides.

    I haven't tried your good party guidelines yet, as I can't bear the thought of having Minsc in my party for the whole game. (Loved him in BG1, bored of him by BG2) But I did take your advice for the construction of an evil party and found the inclusion of Jaheira (who I wouldn't have thought of taking) to be very sound.

    By the way (wrong forum maybe...?) I also followed your advice for IWD2 on my fourth or fifth attempt at the game. I preferred my own parties for sentimental/roleplay reasons, but I have to admit that the bunch I generated with your guidance slid through the opposition like a knife through butter.

    Having read both Berens(BG1, BG2, IWD2) and Dan Simpsons(BG1, BG2, Planescape: Torment, IWD1) walkthroughs, I must say that both has their good and bad side. Beren gives good party suggestions and how to make every NPC as effective as they can get, and Dan Simpsons's walkthroughs being so thourough.

    The second time I played the game, I used Beren's walkthrough, which I think is, by far, the best. Also his walkthrough for BG1, and the expansions. Fantastic work. I really like that style Beren used to describe how the game should be played (which NPC's should be taken and why, combat tips etc.).
    Congratulations, the best walkthroughs I've read, and I've seen plenty.
    I played my second game with elven fighter/mage, and by the end of Throne of Bhaal, he was almost invincible :) . Thanks Beren ;)

    The Baldurdash solo mage walk through. Its prolly the only one ive ever used. C'mon guys, you wanna beat the game on ure own, not use a walkthrough.

    However I do credit anyone who has taken the time to write a walkthrough. Especially Dan whos walkthrough is nearly a meg of text and is very helpful in finding almost anything u need about BG2. His BG1 walkthrough is excellent as well.

    Well Strifestrike that is the point. First you beat the game on your own, and then you use a walkthrough to see if you've missed something. That's the whole point :D

    I've read Dan Simpson's walkthrough, and by all means it is really good, it's just that I liked Dave's (Beren's) more, because of his approach.
