    Naah.... not too serious.

thankies for the tips, though... it'll sure be helpful if I learn to do the "lucid dreaming" thing... *gets mental images of how she could have affected last night's dream*

Well, I vaguely remember struggling against my own dreams trying to change them, though it's more like a tug of war than anyting else. It hasn't exactly happened enough for me to come to some conclusion about its success rate or whatnot, though I have a theory it would be quite low...

Keep trying Aikinaro, it takes time to develop. Don't struggle, for that admits the dreams superiority over own your sub-conscious. Forget the dream, focus on realizing your own awareness, your sense of control of self, only then should you do something to "shock" your system into lucidity - And don't be surprised if it happens very rarely, I am told that even adepts have far more "normal" dreams than lucid ones. Good luck to all of you in your pursuits.

Hmm... I have the sneaking suspicion I don't want to know what Arabwel's dream was- it does not sound quite like any of the elves I've heard of. :)

I can control my dreams... If i am unsure if i am dreaming or awake, i try to lift a chair with my mind, if i succeed, i am dreaming, if i fail, i am awoke.

But when i know i am dreaming, i have no trouble controlling them. I just imagine how something should be, and it is so.

For some unknown reasons, when I dreamed that I can hover around or float a bit in the air, I try to tell myself that it is not possible to do that, but when I really hover(in the dream), I did not seems to doubt too much on that. It's like in my dream, I cannot think that hovering or floating in impossible.

I came across this thing on some psychic persons site (claiming to be psychic anyhow). Basically they were teaching 'astral projection', which was exactly what you guys are doing with your dream controlling (though she had a much cooler name for it ;) )
    Her idea was to:
    1. Relax body (Yoga style)
    2. Meditate on chakra points.
    3. Imagine a ball of light with the number threee on it and think to yourself, 'When I count down to 1, my body will be asleep, but my mind will be free to wander,' and whatnot like that.
    4. Imagine another ball with a 2 on it, thinking 'My body is almost entirely asleep, my mind is still awake.'
    5. Imagine the ball with a 1 on it thinking, 'My body is now asleep comepletly, yet my mind is awake' (or something)/
    6. Focus on something, like the tip of your tounge and ... I'm not sure what's meant to happen then. Some kind of directing of dreams or some such.

Even if it does absalutely nothing, it's an extremely relaxing exercise

Eh, I have returning themes that I've got used to, and I have some visions of how problems might be solved or what might come out of some choices.

Had another recurring dream last night which I'd forgotten about, this one I guess has been inspired by the 'Avalanche' spell in Vandal Hearts PS game. I start floating up from the ground and no matter how hard I try I simply cannot get back down to the ground, I just keep going up

My dreams, or at least the 'scary ones,' always involve me wanting to run from a big, bad mob of mean evil-looking guys bent on catching and/or killing me. I can't run in these dreams, I feel like I'm in quicksand and can't move. Its very hard to lift my feet and I go really slowly.

The fun ones always involve me fighting an epic battle. Hmmm... what a cliche....

My dreams are pretty mundane and unconnected, yet the passings of the next day are strangly conntected to the dreams. Cool.

@ Dragonfly and Manus: Thanks for the tips, I've always been wondering how people can actually control their dreams with lucidity. My main problem is that I always think my dreams are real (though ironically last night I was convinced I was living a nightmare) and it would be REALLY great to have some control of my dreams -- though they might be a bit "duller" but maybe I can focus them to something productive. . .

Usually my dreams are based on whatever I was thinking about as I fell asleep and then they twist around into all sorts of bizairre things. And I also have the various dreams that I'll be playing a computer game (very often with my Dad telling me what to do and me telling him to cut it out. . . oh so lifelike) except of course that the computer game's highly different from real-life. And I have a lot of various dreams about God knows what but almost never any symbolism. Recently though when I had 7 dreams in one night about the same person I decided to go look up a bit of symbolism and the like to find out why. And according to dream "experts" the people in your dreams are actually only aspects or mirrors of yourself. So with the particular person it turns out I really admire how incredibly patient he is. He never yells, never gets mad, and never ever freaks out. Whereas I'm a pretty volatile person. So my dreams became sort of a wake up call to me saying that I should strive a bit more for patience. Apparently I've been doing a great job because last night when my grandparent's car broke down in New Hampshire they went nuts trying to deal with my brothers (heh they're actually freaking out on the same brother now for eating candy when they told him not to) and later they were giving me compliments on being able to deal with him patiently all the time. :D Boo-yeah to that! So as for knowing myself, I'd say I know myself sometimes, just as I can understand my dreams sometimes and other times they seem completely insane. It would be mad cool to have some control over them though.... no more nightmares would always be a plus. :)

I can sometimes control my dreams but for the most of the time my mind is foggy in the dream that I can only think on one thing and that is the thing that is the "goal" of the entire dream. The times when I am able to control my dreams are most often when I dream about pretty normal things but with some little thing to give it away as a dream. Then I generally just go on a rampage, acting without those bothersome restraints that society and care for others put on a person.

I usually am not able to control things, I just know that it is my dream and that I can do whatever I want with no repercussions.

Actually, you probably have a lot of symbolism in your dreams but you just don't recognize it yet. The fact that you did discover something in your dream that improved something in your waking life is great.

If you are tempted to ever use one of the common "dream dictionarys" that you can find in the occult section of a bookstore I would advise against it. They are generally based more on superstition then anything else. The best way to learn how to interpret your dreams by recognising your own symbolism is to make your own dream dictionary.

You can do this by first making a habit of writing down your dreams on a regular basis. If you have a hard time remembering them then just write the little bits you remember first thing in the morning. Eventually you will find it much easier to recall your dreams. When you have a few dreams written down you can read over them again and notice if ceartain objects, people, or situations seem to occur more often. Write those type of things in a separate area.

Now take these objects/people/situations and think about how you were feeling when you dreamed about them. This will give you some indication of what your subconscience was trying to tell you. Also think about the context of the dream. How the other characters and objects were reacting to this object/situation. Take note of all these things and you will have the beginning of your own dream dictionary.

[IMG] I never dream about i want( ;) ) or what i did the previous day. I may watch a horror movie and go to sleep then, but i wont dream about it :)

But something does repeat in quite a number of them... I'm slow. Freakin' slow. I try to run but i cant get a hold with my legs. Like gravity is way different than it usually is. In the end i'm moving at walking speed eventhough i'm running with my legs.
Strange thing is that i'm not running away form something... no escaping or anything. Just trying to run for no reason. Heh, i never recall to jump... that'd go quite high i imagine. :)

Then there are other dreams, which happen very rarely these days. Seems the older i get the rarer they are. :(
In these i dream about certain moments. Usually just a second time-span. Sometimes more. And the funny thing is that each of those moments happen sometime later. Random time later. And then i recall what i did in the dreams. And i do otherwise.
Its just too bad these arent more often

[IMG] :nono: I had a dream about three members of SP, One was murdering me, one was running to get the police and another was talkign to a computer program I'd made. After avoiding being killed I walked past an allyway and saw two large red eyes and a hissing sound, I looked at it and it leapt at me. I ended up being killed by a Crophenisk and the last thing I saw was my flesh being dissolved by it's acidic bites.

I remembered once dreaming that I was the Tarrasque. Sleeping for most of the time and once in a while waking up to squash everything in your path and eating as much as you can... :D

I'm sure theres something up with my dreams. Pretty sure I'm dreaming what I will end up doing in the future and therefore have a perfect explanation for every occurence of deja vous (er - is that spelt right??) I have.
Once dream't that I could jump very high and far over the place I work and then got chased over a frozen pond by a flying serpent...yay me! And there was another one that sticks in my head from years ago when I could walk through class room tables by blinking really fast.
OK, I don't really think these things will happen but I'm certain I've done things that I've dreamt about.
 last night I fell out of a plane into a farm field and woke up just as I hit the ground  - I really hope I is be wrong

My dreams are many and different.

    1) I see a lot of doors and all open as I come near, but I can't decide which one to enter. - With a bit ofknowledge about Freud, who I not always believe, this *might* mean that there are lots of women I can choose from, but I can't decide. :xx:

    2) I have all important things done and there's nothing to worry about. - When I wake up, it seemed different.

    3) I'm on a cliff and there are about ten of MoNs I try to pull on the cliff, but the pull me from it. - I look back at the past too often.

    Conclusion:
Find a girl and find some time for yourself. Let the past be tha past and focus more on the future.

    Something like that?

I really don't dream much, and when I do I don't remember that I dreamed, just a vague feeling that something happened and very vague impression on what it was about.

You know when you are just falling asleep, and then you suddenly feel like you are falling, and wake up. I get those alot.
