    I chuckled at this. It sounds a tad autistic.

    Also, "keyboard bravery" is known in academia as Online Disinhibition Effect or more commonly as GIFT (Greater Internet F*ckwad Theory) as Penny Arcade referred to it.

    Personally, I don't think holding oneself back for the sake of sparing someone's feelings is worthwhile. Not meaning to offend on purpose is one thing, but trying to please everyone is an exercise in futility and can prove to be bad for a community in the long run, especially when enforced, because it breeds a much too friendly environment for it to be functional in the grand scope of things. That's how you get sections of FB and tumblr where people are living in their own precious hugboxes and completely disregarding reality because there is no negative feedback or consequences.

    There are a few minor points about the guide that I'd change personally, but I decided to make a faithful copy for the time being. I might delve into it at some point and make a few changes, but for the most part, it's still quite valid.

    I've been linking to it in the rules for a long time, but since the author's died (AFAIK) and his website has gone down, I've decided to repost it here. Plus it gave me something to test our new Resource Manager with. ;)
