Black patches around text, items on the ground...

    Hi all,my name is Ilias,Im from Athens and I have some problem with IWD 2.
    I install the game again in my laptop after many years and I have this problem.When the npc talks,for example ( were this goblins came from etc)at the harbour,at the place were the words appears, around them all is black...and when i drop an item down around the item the ground is black...I download many patch I think but still nothing.If you can help me pls tell I love this game a lot.Take care all and hae fun

    What graphics card do you use?

    try running the game in 16 bit colour depth. Basically, just fiddle with the graphics configuration options.

    Thank you for the advice ppl,no problem now.If I run the game at 16 colors runs ok.At 32 colors the black color appears again

    Why the female gnomme appears with beard...?I want to make a normal femmale gnomme...

    I have this same issue. I disable DirectDraw in the DirectX menu to solve the issue. To accomplish this, click the START button in the bottom left corner, click "Run...", type "dxdiag" in the box that appears and push Enter. Click the Display tab at the top and then click to disable DirectDraw Acceleration.

    You guys...seriously, scroll up in the IWD2 forum to the top three 'stickied' threads. Specifically I think the third one titled "Annoying graphical bug" or some such.
