    It really would have been nice if they gave the IWD version of a regular Bards skills. After playing that one this one seems really lame :(

    Regular bards are a lot like regular thieves or regular clerics. They're OK, but there's really nothing they can do that their kitted counterparts can't do better.

    I'm not really leaning one way or the other, i like what they did with the unique bard songs for IWD, but i think that the bard and it's kits in BG are fine as they are as well, both iterations are fun to play in their own right.

    They also recently buffed the bard in the enhanced editions of BG, so that they now also confer a luck bonus when singing, to make them just a bit more appealing.
