Are specialized wizards still wizards for favoured class purposes?

    hello,
I have an Elvish Evoker4/Rogue3 character. I wish to give her one or more level of fighter at some time. Is evoker still counted as wizard for favoured class purposes? Or do I have to keep evoker and rogue level even if I wish to avoid the XP penalty?

Using a specialist wizard is fine.

The only exception to the rule are Gnomes, whose favored class is Illusionist.

Edit: For the build you are using, you'll need to give between 2-4 levels of Fighter to avoid XP penalties. (In fact, you'd need to wait for 2 levels to build up before leveling up, in this case. You won't really get much out of a fighter build, since it will hurt your spellcasting. My recommendation is to continue with the Evoker levels, and skip Fighter altogether.
