    [​IMG] You'll see it (I hope) when you get a new PM. I've been sending a few PMs out recently and have received only about 30% response so I assume that most people don't pay much attention to the top right corner of the board layout where notifications about new PMs and such show up. Hopefully this modification will eliminate that problem.

    Hehe! I noticed it after I read the PM. I thought it might be a smart banner-contraption-thingy, that reacted on me reading a PM. Yeah, I'm a bit suspicious when it comes to big flashy internet bannerlike stuff.

    Good to hear it's all fine and dandy, though. :)

    Doh... I would have thought using your username in the notice would be proof enough that it's "official". I'll put a mention of the boards in too. If anyone's got any more suggestions on how to make it look legit, post here.

    I can see why you'd make such a big banner, because I normally don't pay much attention to it as well, but it does sort of look like an add or something. And yes, it has my username in it, but banners usually get auto-ignored, so still not seeing much of it ;)

    Apparently, I am not most people. I almost insta-check that corner and pay no attention whatsoever to anything that looks like a banner and so (like henkie, I assume) won't even see my name in it. ;)
    ^ Jut some feedback. Others might have more enthusiastic experiences with the new notification. :)

    Same here. Banners get ignored regardless. Usernames won't make a difference to most people because they don't read banner ads

    Heh, well, if people make an effort not to see or read something then I'm at a loss how to make any kind of notice that would actually be read. Except for making it take up half of the screen, which would be a bit harder to ignore.

    True. :D Or a little pop-up, like the "Are you sure you want to log out" one. (or something along those lines). But I'm not sure if people would like that or if that gets blocked.
    Also, don't we get an e-mail or is that just optional?

    There's an option to enable a pop-up on new PMs received, but most people have it turned off and/or are blocking pop-ups so that doesn't help much.

    The e-mail is optional as well (and a lot of people have mails they don't check or outdated/dead mails listed).
