Can I recycle broken items?

    In Knights of the Old Republic 2, I can break down broken items for a couple components. Can I do the same with the broken items I got before picking up Neeshka?
    I should have made Bevil put all his points into open locks at the level ups he got during the fair, but I forgot and was forced to bash my way into the chests.

    As far as I know you can do nothing with the broken items you find when you bash open chests. On the other hand, none of those broken items are anything special, so you really haven't missed anything. Once you've got Neeshka, you shouldn't ever have to bash a chest again.

    What about the humanoid enemies that I'm using the Bone Phoenix to smite? Doesn't that count as bashing their chests?

    Tecnically speaking, I suppose it does. But there are no ill side-effects caused by that particular sort of chest bashing (unless you're the recipient of said chest bash, of course). ;)

    Bone Phoenix is a fantastic early game weapon, by the way.
