    [IMG] Spoilers obviously:

In my current game I have just finished with the quests in Durlags Tower. A long time ago I had some fun with the DemonKnight and I thought I would try and repeat the tactic. I needed a few reloads but eventually I got it right. From these clues can you work out what happened.

    1) I retrieved the Dagger from the DemonKnight.
    2) I didn't get any XP.
    3) I didn't use any of my weapons.

    Your time starts now.

You smashed the mirror and made yourself invisible to avoid the shadows?

Good try but that's not the answer I was looking for.

I'm going to check if it needs a weapon to break the mirror and whether a smash and hide tactic can complete the quests correctly.

    EDIT:
Ok, a smash and grab tactic might work because you can break the mirror with your fist. But technically that's really a weapon so it's not allowed.

[IMG] Nobody else has replied to my little puzzle, but I almost gave away the answer in the other thread.

When my summoned Ghast killed the DemonKnight I didn't use any weapons, but I did get XP. So there must be a clue in that........

The DemonKnight is dead, so who killed him?

Would anyone like the answer to this puzzle or shall I leave it unanswered for those who come after?

I'm curious, but I can't say I've played BG1 long enough to know how you did this.

    Ok, here is the answer.

It was Dalton who killed the DemonKnight for me, which is why I got no XP. But I didn't Charm him because that gives XP, he had to do it all by himself.

It turns out that if Dalton takes damage from a fireball then he turns hostile and attacks the DK, so now all I had to do was make sure he won the fight. The DK has good magic Resistance and Saving Throws, but they are not perfect, so eventually he gets caught by a Hold or Stun. After a good few reloads he failed against a Chromatic Orb and Dalton did the rest before running home to mummy.

Quests completed, no weapons, no XP, just used a low level spell.
