I'm playing a Druid and get to choose either Deva or Fallen Deva. Is there any diffrence between them? Only had the Fallen before, and that was a long time ago, so I don't really remember.

Oh, and by the way, which one of the Elemental Transformations is preferable?

Although I have not checked the attributes of the Deva and Fallen Deva in any creature browser, I suppose that difference is only between their alignment and color set.

Both elemental transformations can be useful, for different purpose. If I had to choose anyway, I would use the Earth Elemental Transformation because it deals a lot of damage and has better THAC0.

I think the Fallen Deva is very identical to the regular Deva except for one spell. I think the Deva has some equivalent of holy smite (hurts just bad guys) and the Fallen version has some other spell that just hurts good guys.

So the Deva would generally be more effective against your enemies (as they're usually evil). If you have an evil party, you could go with the Fallen Deva, because he won't hurt you party with this spell (he won't hurt much of your enemies either, though).

Well, since I'm currently on a mp game, and all my four chars are chaotic neutral, except for the druid who's true neutral, I guess it really doesn't matter. :p

It doese'nt matter for your party but holy/unholy smite is a very useful spell. As I remember (it's been awhile) it deals a great deal of damage over an area 1.5 times as large as a fireball.

I have no way of checking this but I thought the spell selection was different for both these summonses. I'm pretty sure that the Planetar and Fallen Planetar both have a significantly different spell selection.

It won't matter much for your party, but my guess is you'll be fighting more evil than good people, so you're better of with the regular Deva who has Holy Smite.

Every time I summoned a fallen deva - it attacked me.

I've had Devas do that too, but found out later it was because they got caught in a either a cross-fire or got hit by an area spell (fireball, cloud of whatever, etc).

Besides the one spell difference, doesn't the Fallen Deva also wield a bow and not just a sword? I know the planetars have both.
