    The instruction book says that evasion allows for a save vs breath weapon to avoid all damage and as you gain levels you get a bonus for that special save. I was wondering what is the value of the bonus and what is the rate of advancement.

    I would like to know so I can add the ability to my thieves in my tabletop 2e games. Thanks!

    I suspect the evasion saving throw is and stays the same as the normal character saving throw. As a character levels up his saving throws improve.

    Evasion is a 3E feature and there it only negates damage if you make your save, it doesn't have an effect on saving throw difficulty.

    IN IWD it works slightly differently at least per the manual evasion for the thief is a special save vs breath weapon success negates the damage and failure means you still get your standard save. It also says as you level you get a bonus to save vs breath ONLY for this special save which is the part I am trying to figure out. It also does not work on attacks that you did yourself such as using fireball at close range (unique to this version as all others would allow that).

    What is funny is that the way you describe is essentially how that ability reacts in every version of D&D ever (and believe it or not evasion is found in every version of D&D somewhere)

    D&D- Mystic class and demihumans all get versions of what is essentially evasion (in this case it is auto half damage and save for quarter damage but it is basically the same idea).

    1e- The monk class gets it.

    2e- You can find versions of it randomly such as in the juggleur bard kit.

    3e-evasion ability found in many classes

    4e- Evasion feat which negates partial damage on a miss (essentially the same thing as negating 1/2 damage on a good save).


    Since this version is unique that is the reason I am trying to see if I can get concrete stats for it.
