    Hi there,

So like a lot of other people running windows 7, I'm experiencing issues with, well, EVERYTHING flickering. Intro movie, buttons in the menu, in character creation, the works.

Unfortunately, none of the fixes suggested for other people have worked for me. Changing colour depth, applying different modes of compatibility modes, disabling directdraw through the windows toolkit, disabling 3d acceleration and enabling it as well, through Nvidia control panel, nothing works.

I'm at the end of my rope here. I'd really, REALLY like to enjoy the wonders of Icewind Dale 2 again, but it's simply unplayable with all this flickering!
Any and all advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Regards,
    Kef

sounds like a framerate issue. did you try adjusting the number? 24 is standard, i believe.
old ID2 still requires you to adjust to your computer manually, i'm afraid.
I recently installed W7 on my own laptop, and i can confirm ID2 works. for me at least.

Ayup. Standard is 30, turned it up to 60. Just flickers more quickly. turning it down does the same thing in reverse.

Also installed the widescreen mod. Flickers both before and after. Patched to latest version too (though no idea if it flickered before that... hoping to fix it without uninstalling).

you'll need to keep adjusting the number until you guess it right. try 24 or 25. just a hunch.

Tried 24 and 27 (the presets that IWD2 allow), and neither work (nor did 30 or 60). Can't manually change it to 25, as IWD2 overrides manual changes and reverts to its presets.

    Any other ideas?

Haha, I already had, but your suggestion made me reinstall the same ones, just in case, AND IT FREAKING WORKED!
