MISSING NPC WITH PORTRAIT STILL THERE
I have encountered the problem that one of my NPC's have run away from the party but the portrait is still there,it happened when they encountered some Eleves that wanted to thank the party for letting some of their friends out of prison.
The missing NPC is Spugnoir, at first I found this very annoying, but I discovered that he can be used in non combat mode to identify macic objekts and run around as a invisible spy, because the enemies cant se him. An other way to use him is to let him cast a Cone of cold spell as combat start when the party has the initiative. As soon as the combat starts he disappears. It is a strange function in the TOEE, probably a bug. Does any one know if there is a way to get rid of the portrait when the NPC is gone. I have the 1,2,3 official patches downloaded and activated.

I had a similar problem with Scorp, same identifing for me, etc. I have Co8 patch installed as well. Scorp stuck with me throughout the temple, even after I intentionally killed him. He disappeared after I returned to town. Wish I could tell you why or how, but I am not sure. I would suggest adding more NPCs to cover his portrait then dismiss them.

    Hello,
I have encountered the same trouble but with the
women that can be rescued alongside the orcs in the first level of the temple. I made a mistake after exiting the temple and talked to them. They thanked me for saving them and disappear. But the portraits are still there. They do not show up in combat but I can target, kill them and remove them. The sad thing is that this makes the game crash when I want to go to Verbobonc. It says in the quest log that I have saved one of them.

[Edit] I forgot to add that I am running the game in IronMan mode, so no backup saves. Anyways, I think I solved the problem. I killed them off, move to Verbobonc, removed them from my party there. Tried to get out and in to Verbobonc again and it works fine. Now I am wondering if I botched some quests other than saving these two. Stupid killing, my lawful good game destroyed, out of character I had to go to solve bug.
