There's a long sword for sale at the Galway Trade Depot in Targos. Is it anything more than a +1 longsword that gives cold resistance 1? If it is, please don't spoil it, just tell me if it gets better later on, or it there's significance to it later in the game - part of the plot or something like that. I'm running a paladin as my main character.

What's it got in Heart of Fury? I don't plan on playing that version of the game any time soon...

If you want to try it, DL the Weimer mod from the IWD 2 section here on SP. It's got a fix (some say cheat) that changes some of the normal game items into their HoF versions. The "Heart of ()" changes to the "Golden Heart of ()", making it quite useful. It's a bit expensive, though...

There's nothing special about the fact that it names your character - that's just something to create a spooky atmosphere.

And - using those HoF items (whilst they are really cool) in normal mode makes you massively overpowered, in my opinion.

Yeah. The HoF version of that sword is like a kill-sword, if you're playing on normal. You might as well be carrying a lightsaber, and using a 40mm grenade launcher.

Don't worry about it on normal, unless you're needing a +1 sword. There's another sword coming up pretty quick that's much more powerful (the Moonsword).

You know, the Moonblade kinda-sorta looks like a lightsaber, too.

Too bad there aren't two in the game--a character wielding two moonblades makes a neat image, IMO.
