Hello. I am facing a rather aggravating dilemma on the underneath 3rd Floor of Durlag's Tower. I enter the 3rd level, I go in to the room with the two statues that open the two doors. I use the statue which opens the door to the bedroom, I go to the bed room, loot everything and Durlag appears. He mumbles some jibberish then reveals himselfs as a greater dopppleganger. I kill it and proceed back to the room with the two statues. Now I use the other statue which opens the door opposite to the bedroom. Now I go to that room, I loot the training dummies, Durlag appears again, mumbles more incoherent jibberish and again reveals himself as a greater doppleganger. I kill it, but now I am stuck. I read in a walkthrough you have to attack the training dummies. when I do though, it just opens a door I have been in already. It doesn't seem to open the door to the throne room. I have tried every combination I can think of. The dummy will open and close the two doors I have already opened. However nothing I do opens the door I am supposed to open now. I am very frustrated right now. I have spent about 30 minutes trying everything. I reloaded the auto save and it is still the same thing.

Is is this a bug or glitch or something? I bought Baldur's Gate from gog.com. Do I have to patch it? I would guess it is the latest patch but I don't know. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think you need to trigger something in both the bedroom and the weapons room.

Ok I finally got it. Thanks for the response Morgoth. I needed to manipulate the rug in between the two statues as well as attacking the training dummy. Phew, I am relieved.

I hate those 'you need to hop on your right foot three time while patting your head and farting west' kind of puzzles.
