I've played through the original BG twice is the new version worth it? Do the old mods work on the new version and what kind of new mods are we looking at? Are there any romance mods available? I remember the original has one for Brawen, Dytheria, and Shar-teel

Can`t play it. Its not compatible with Intel graphics cards :( Sucks that they didn`t inform customers about that on their website, though.

All mods had to be redone to work with BGEE, AFAIK. The mods I have used with it are listed below...

    NPCS...
Valerie - Cowled Wizard Sorcerer located in Nashkel

Isra - Paladin of Sune located at the Nashkel mines, protecting the sculptor.

Margirita - Halfling Stalker located in the Gullykin.

Murneth - was just re-released for BGEE. Can be found in the Nashkel mines.

    Scion of Bhaal Cleric Kit

Forget the names exactly, but there is a Weapons mod, an Armor mod and a Packmule mod. The Weapons and Armor mods add merchants located at the FAI who have powerful weapons for a lot of gold. A bit OP IMO.

    SCS

The game itself, once fully patched, adds a ton of new kits. Dwarven Defender is pretty cool. Dragon Disciple is a d6 HD Sorcy with fire-breathing ability.

But it's the new NPCs that I like most. Dorn is a to of fun to play. He is a Half-Orc Blackguard with an excellent storyline. Neera the Wild Mage is pretty fun as well. Rasaad the Monk is cool and there is a mod that changes him from Monk to Sun Soul Monk kit.

Try it, I found it well worth a few bucks.
