    Which do you prefer?

Personally, I find the Hammer of Ironfist and that +7 full plate armor as a setup just too good to pass.

But then, I've never tried Khelgar as a Monk, so maybe somebody can contradict me ...

Fighter. Deffinatly. He sucks as a monk. His Dex is way too low.

I'd lean towards keeping him as a fighter myself.

I like him better as a fighter. Khelgar the monk is squishy, though a lot faster and more resilient. He's a good monk as long as you keep physical attackers off him, which is easy because of his speed. I've only used him as a monk a couple of times, in all those runs my PC was either a sword and shield user or a two-handed weapons user with lots of HP.

Fighter5/Ranger10/Frenzied Berserker5 with Favored Power Attack in Humans, Undead, and Constructs wielding a Flame Weapon'ed Holy Adamantine Greatsword +5.

Those ain't crits, either. (FB not legal with his default alignment, though)

    But yeah, fighter.

Now, according to the NWN2 Wiki, monk can use quarterstaves with Flurry of Blows. If this is the case, they're a lot closer to Fighter. Unarmed, the loss of +5 weapons, 1.5xSTR bonus, two-handed power attack, and inability to be Flame Weapon'ed really kills them. A quarterstaff fixes that. But the Fighter still has Weapon and Greater Weapon Specialization for +4 damage and Greater Weapon Focus for +1 AB, and a Greatsword does an additional d6 over a quarterstaff. So that's an average of 7.5 damage per hit you're missing out on. And he's just more of a tank as a Fighter.

I haven't gotten vary far in NWN2 as I really don't have the long stretches of time the game needs and really hate getting interrupted.

Anyways, how do you make that above build? The game only lets me select fighter at level-up. When I reach level 6 I'm still locked in as a fighter.
