I've been seeing a couple issues come up repeatedly, such as how to edit an .ini file under Windows Vista or later. I've answered it several times.

Is it better to do a copy/paste of the same answer with the procedure, or should I find one of my old posts, link to the post, and say "use the same procedure described here for this game, only choosing X file instead of Y file"?

That is just one example, and I'm not sure which is better etiquette for this form.

I'm considering keeping a "FAQ" file for here for this purpose for several questions or bits of advice that keep coming up.

Actually the best way to handle common issues like that would be to put it into the form of a short guide or FAQ in our resources section. That way it's always easily accessible to yourself and everyone else too.
