Logout Problems

    This has happened to me a few times lately.

    Sometimes when I log into the Boards, I'll go to make a post, and when I hit the Post button, I get a message that says I don't have permission to do so. It appears that I'm still logged in, but when I refresh the page, I'm no longer logged in.

    I know there's a time limit for how long you can be idle, but this happens within 5 minutes of logging in. I'm sure the limit is longer than that.

    Anyone else have this problem? I'm using Windows 7, and IE9

    [​IMG] Tried clearing cookies? Sometimes a cookie goes 'bad' and doesn't retain the proper information.

    I was about to post this:

    Well, I just tried it, so we'll see how it goes. But this is an intermittent problem and I would think if it was a cookie issue, it would be more frequent.


    But when I tried to post it, the problem happened again, so it doesn't seem to be cookie-related.

    One thing I've noticed is that, before it happens, the cursor "freezes" while I'm typing my post. I can still type, but the cursor doesn't move to where I'm typing.

    I have not had this problem, and I am using Windows 7 and IE 9.

    Could be some odd IE9 bug... if you're getting logged out it's almost certainly a cookie issue. Aside from clearing your cache and cookies I'm not sure what else to suggest.

    On my last system, that ran XP, we ran into a few similar issues when on-line. Everytime it happened, a friend told me to download and run CCleaner. I would run it and my problem would go away, for a while, but it always came back.
