I've been trying out the NWN PW Layonara and It's pretty col, but a bit hard (escpecially if you play solo, which is often the case since I play late at night.)

I'm looking for a PW that's fun to explore, not too hard, and not too combat intensive.

    Any recommendations?

Same problem. While waiting for a great PW, maybe play some modules? Some of the Hall of Fame ones are really great and they offer the indie feeling official campaigns and modules don't have. It's still not like playing with human players, but somewhat closer to that feeling.

Are you after NWN1 or NWN2 worlds, diagnull?

    I'm looking for NWN1 worlds. (Don't have NWN2.)

So far I've only tried 2 Layonara and A Land Far Away (aka ALFA).

Layonara is pretty good, has crafting and such, lots of diverse areas, but the balance is sutied more toward parties then solo players. (Probably for the best but...)

ALFA seems to be a huge world...but no one is there. Just me and a couple of NPCs, maybe a friendly badger. I wandered through about 30 areas and all there was to do was kill a tiny snake and pick some herbs. Maybe I picked a dev server or something.

Or I guess everyone is moving on to NWN2 (or WOW or something.)

What I liked about both these worlds was the requirement to submit a PC bio before you could play in their world. That's made me think a lot about how I role play and the types of PCs I play.

    Thanks,

    -D

I can't speak for Layonara, but the catch with ALFA in it's current state is that you really do need to hook up with a DM and usually a group of players. If you are looking for a group to play with, I'm planning on starting a small (weekly) campaign up there soon - will happily PM the details to you, if you want. Once you have found some players whose playing time does suit yours, I think you'll love it there, judging by what you've said above.

If you are looking for a place with a bit more life, Avlis is probably your best bet. From what I've seen, there is really a buzzing world. Not sure how it fits with what you're after though, as I've never experienced it first hand.

Finding a good place to play isn't the easist thing these days - with the game coming up to its 6th aniversary this year, it's not the newest thing around. But there still is a buzzing NWN community out there, and with a bit of effort, NWN online will really be a very rewarding experience.

    Thanks Rotku.

I'll let you know if I can round up some other players for ALFA.

I looked into Avlis but haven't tried it yet. Might give it a while also...

    Thanks,
