I was scrolling through the wav files of Baldur's Gate with Near Infinity, when I came across these, it's a childish female voice:

NERED01.WAV - "Ahh... to be in the waters of home. Hmm..."
    NERED02.WAV - "Leave me be, silly dirt-fish!"
NERED03.WAV - "You men cannot hurt me."
    NERED04.WAV - "I'd rather be swimming."
    NERED05.WAV - "Btoï!" (?)
    NERED06.WAV - [water]
    NERED07.WAV - [kiss]
    NERED08.WAV - "Aah!" (hurt)
    NERED09.WAV - "Aaaaah! Ooooh..." (death)

Seems like a water creature of some sort. I could not find any reference to the file names nor the lines on Google. Anyone knows who that is in the game?

Looking at the names of the wav files it might be Shoal the Nereid? IIRC, she can be found in the coastal map just beneath the road to Candlekeep.

Ah, I remember now. She's the one that destroys your main character with a kiss and then you have to reload and try it with another character. And if you hadn't learned yet to save like a madman in BG at that point, well now you just did.

    Sweet memories.

That's how my first playthrough ended. I'd been playing for hours when I encountered her. I got charmed into slaying my party, then finished off by her. I then raged and deleted my savefile.

Lmao! I got kiss-killed by her the first time through. Instant game over (yet not if anyone else dies?)! Luckily, I had learned to save often, especially when exploring, and exploring I was. The basilisks got me that way once, too.

I loved all those random NPCs you can meet on the map tiles.

I also recall some weird one where a 'child' and their pet went through some inter-dimensional portal (or something like that). Been years since I encountered that one, hopefully my mind didn't just make that one up :S
-edit I read the name Chinchilla and I think that was it?

That's Albert and his pet Rufie, south of Nashkel.
