Neverwinter Nights has won the "Best PC Game" category in the 2002 British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards. The event was also covered by BBC.

This single-player game will rank among the best PC RPGs of all time. Its toolset and Dungeon Master client provide limitless replayability and fantastic multiplayer gaming. The story and sub-quests are compelling, the game both plays and controls just like a 3D Baldur's Gate game should. The radial menus are an inspiration. Good graphics, beautiful lighting, outstanding score and great voices round off this superb game.

WTF... OK, I now how absolutely zero respect for the British Academy of Film and Art. I mean, I can understand how something like a film and art academy could be misinformed or mislead about a computer game, but it honestly sounds like they haven't really even played the game. The single player will rank among the best PC RPG's of all time? The game plays and controls just like a 3D Baldur's Gate should? Shame on BAFA for giving a credible reason for such an award. NWN has promise and lots of good points, but I don't think it's worthy of game of the year honors, and certainly not for some of the fluff reasons given. BOOOOOO!
