Quite correct. You don't need to pickpocket him, technically - you also get it if you side with the king and kill him, or if you're an evil bastard and you kill the king and then kill him just for the heck of it. (I don't recommend doing that last thing if you have the Tactics version of the Sahuagin City, at least not without resting for a week or two first.) I think that if the king survives, you can also pickpocket him for the items you would have gotten if you killed him.

Major thread bump here, but I can't contain myself. I was running my MP party through today and have 2 thieves: 1 for locks, traps and stealth and 1 for pick pockets and set traps. My pick pocket thief was dualled to a mage and I finally got his skills back. We trudged over to Watcher's Keep to get the Firetooth crossbow. I thought to myself, "Wonder what they got?" My mage gulps down a master thievery potion and begins.

    Gellana - mace +2
    Mage 1 - nothing
    Fighter 1 - 2 extra healing potions
    Fighter 2 - nothing
    Mage 2 - quarterstaff +2
    Main guy - nothing

Sorry I'm not better with names. I did this with 150 PP normal, augmented with the potions and gloves of PP.

You think killing the Sahuagin Prince is an evil thing?

He himself is evil, of course (lawful evil to be precise). :hmm: Maybe it's more of a chaotic act than an evil act - you did make an agreement with him to deliver him the throne.
