A discussion in the SPS Private Forum has reminded me that is time again for the 3rd annual survey of the generation gaps in Sorcerer's Place.

Last year, 17- 21 year olds (Youthful Rebellion) ruled the roost with 40% of the head count.

And in 2004, 17 - 21 year olds (All Care and No Responsibility) also topped the poll with 35%.

So, in 2006, are the oldies taking over, or has there been enough new blood since last year to keep things youthful? Time to find out.

    I'm 15, but
22 - 29 (There was a time before colour TV?)
    would correspond me better

That one statement made me a little sad... :(

Although I'm only 26, I had have a black and white TV in my room when I was younger. It was not the best place to watch cartoons. :p

I have hit 30 since last time we had one of these so I have graduated up to a more senior category.

I am wondering if many of the old 17-21 guard have finally matured into the 22-29 brigade and become more responsible members of society.

I'm still in the same age slot... it's almost like I haven't aged at all.

Talking about ancientness, has Nakia been around here in a while? I guess the 56+ category will need every vote they can get, to be able to compete with the younger categories.

We had two of those for quite a while even after VHS had completely taken over. Somebody was a cheapskate.

Two months until my 23rd birthday, so it's the middle slot for me. I've only had to watch a b&w tv in the...countryside. Call it survival camp. Mentally and physically. Especially mentally. Relatives, you see.

On the fringes of the 17-21 bracket. I'm not in the next group yet but I am now contributing to society ;)

20, so still in the same age group. But we had black and white TV for a long time. Imagine Sesame Street in B&W, a grey Bigbird. :shake:

I'm in the 17-21 bracket... and I did have a black and white TV.

Apologies for any underestimation on the pervasive longevity of certain milestones of technology. We did have a black and white TV that we used well into the 80s but I didn't realise they were so popular with other people here as well. Anybody who has used a black and white TV is hereby granted the title of honorary geezer :geezer: :geezer: (for today only).

Well, I'm on the tale end of 21(by all rights I'm 22...). I guess that means that I hold within me the memories of the days before the pc when the TV was thine god. Of course, those days those days are long past and nearly forgotten (i still download\rent where appropriate the occational discontinued tv show from my youth and revel in its campy goodness).

Still in the 17-21 catagory. A few more years yet. Ask again in 2010 ;)

We got our first PC when I was 4, iirc. And last time I watched a black and white TV would have been... June, I think. Got an old portable one to take up the mountains when we go skiing.

14 when I joined now I'm 18. Well we got our first PC in what 1991? So I was like three. But my family has always been pretty up to date in technology, faster than most people I'd say. We were using Windows 3.1 when most people used DOS. Right now I don't even think there is a workable VCR here, only DVD players :shake: . Meh my sister is talking about her youth where BETA and Audio Cassette were cool. Am I young or she's old ?
