 In the latest installment of Shell's computer problems, the computer is now refusing to sign into anything.

I use MSN Explorer which it now refuses to sign into so I open IE. I go to websites such as ebay or hotmail. It then refuses to sign in and comes up with the 'This page cannot be displayed' error. In fact sorcerers is the only website (apart from pogo.com)needing signing-into that I can now use. This may be because these are the only two that I never sign out of.

    Any ideas on this one?

:edit: I just want to point out I can still use websites that don't require signing into

    On Internet Explorer:
    1. Tools, Internet Options, Privacy. Check whether the cookies' meter is higher than medium.
    2. Tools, Internet Options, Content. Disable the Advisor, if it's on.
    3. Tools, Internet Options, Security. Customize the security level. If all ActiveX controls are disabled by default, and if "Access data across domains" is off, you may not be able to enter some pages.
    4. Some pages need to load Java or JavaScript. If you have a fresh install of IE6, the Java add-ins may not be installed.

Also, as Taza hinted, try installing another browser, like Firefox, and see how it reacts. If you get the same grief out of it, try a malware remover.

Do you have a router or a firewall installed? Sounds like an issue with one of them...

No problem, I get crap like that with Zone Alarm and/or my router now and then, so I know the symptoms... killing it and restarting it a while later is usually the only solution.

Or waiting patiently for a few minutes (yea, right)...
