I think i hurt that elf's feeling when i hinted that killing a unique creature to save the life of his unremarkable little wifie is about as elven as a headman's axe in Fenthik's neck. So now i can't get him to tell me where that shadow-hart is supposed to be. So where is it? I'm pretty sure i explored every area there is in chapter 1, and there are still no disappearing things with horns for me to hunt down. Any hints on finding it?

My Ranger founds tracks. I had to discover tracks after tracks that said I was getting closer and closer until there it was right in front of me.

Oh, and it wasn't like it was just standing in some super-secret place that I had to find. I ended up finding it in a place I had passed many times before.

Walk around, find the tracks, it will show. My paladin found it. ;)

That unique creature is less sentient than his wife and it wouldn't be too great of his to see his special woman as less unique than a rare kind of deer. In addition, elves form very strong bonds, stronger than human ones, reinforced by spending more years with each other, and are radically monogamous, often remaining unmarried after losing the wife or husband.

It shows up randomly so there's no point looking in a specific place. I think Druids and Rangers are better at finding it than other classes. My Druid found it almost instantly, but my Bard never found it.

So the hart isn't limited to any given area? Which area did each of you start finding the tracks in?

I'm playing a cleric, btw. Of Selune, in fact, but the game doesn't care. You enter the deity's name during char creation, but your only religeous option in conversations, when asked what you are, is still "A cleric, a servant of the gods". Ugh. >_<
