    I don't know about Windows 10, but under Windows 7 the disable hardware acceleration was moved to the screen resolution settings panel. Try looking there for something under troubleshooting.

    Unfortunately the hardware acceleration setting is nowhere to be found. I've tried Googling it, but that just made me aware that many other people have the same problem :(

    It might be that Windows 10 requires hardware acceleration for the UI so it cannot be turned off anymore. IIRC it is impossible to disable hardware acceleration if Aero glass is turned on with Windows 7.
