Is there one? I went surfing but all I could find is the reflection shield. There was a drow (don't know what class) that was some how making my arrows come back at me and killing me. Well not ME, one of my npcs.
Anyone have any ideas? The reflection shield isn't found there so it's not that :bang:

Not in vanilla, as far as I know (I'm too lazy to look), but it is possible to reflect both projectiles and spells, so mods could potentially add spells and effects like that.

The only mod I'm using is the tweaks. Thanks anyway Keneth.

There is the shield in Ribald's market that does that. I love running my tank through the gauntlet of orcs with everyone else invisible.

Sorry for the slight necro. I did find out what spell it is so I wanted to share in case someone else reads this.
It's a shaman spell, level 6, physical mirror.

It's a normal lvl 6 clerical spell as well, actually. Never actually used it, but at lvl 6 one expects a bit better than returning missile weapons.

Yeah - as much as i have played the baldur's gate games, i can't remember ever memorizing, let alone using this spell.
For a lvl 6 slot it is pretty underwhelming, especially considering lvl 6 has some really great spells on offer that i'd rather take instead.

In the first place, i'd rather take another casting of one of the great summons the game has at this level, like the aerial servant or fire elemental - you can use them to soak up any ranged damage as well if you send them in first, and get a lot more use out of them in general.
Heck, even an extra casting of Heal would be better so i can top my party offon hp out of combat, or Wondrous Recall so i can regain some lower lvl spells if i want to go without resting a while longer.

It has to go up against heal, harm, wondrous recall (some extra true seeing, chaotic command, ironskin, mass heal), aerial servant, fire elemental, false dawn, bolt of glory, depending on if you're a druid or cleric. So I'm not surprised it never gets used. The constant effect on that shield of reflection is more or less about what it's worth, I'd say.

I'd put it at about the same level as harm, bolt of glory and false dawn - also 6th level spells i usually never bother memorizing because of their situational use.
Harm and bolt of glory just do too little for me for the spell slot used, being single target only, and while the game throws plenty of undead your way, you really should not need false dawn to deal with them.

Missed this thread, could have pointed it out otherwise. I've used this spell a few times in modded games (some mod developers thought it would be a great idea if every caster in the game would pre-cast Melf's Minute Meteors/Energy Blades). They usually go after the squishy party members, so while the mages spammed Invisibilities I just had Aerie cast this.

Definite points, though I'd argue that if I'd need a full heal in mid combat, I'd use a rod of resurrection, because by the time the cast time is over, your target may already be dead or you got an interrupt.

Harm is nice for some enemies, and especially in a solo game it can be the difference between being able to beat a character or not (without much re-trying, anyway).
False dawn is just nice for dealing with a large amount of undead at lower levels, before your turn undead can just vaporise them all in one go.
Bolt of glory is situational, but it bypasses MR, which is nice. And hey, I only need so many slots with heal or aerial servant or some such.
