    Not exactly close, no. In fact, it was almost impossible to carry on a conversation with the man – no matter what you said to him, he’d answer with a question.

    Me: “Wow, the weather is sure nice today”
    Socrates: “Doesn’t that depend on what one considers ‘nice’ to be?”

    Or

    Me: "Hey, Socrates, wanna go shoot some pool?”
    Socrates: “Don’t you think the pool would object?”

    Or

    Me: “Socrates, how do I know if I exist?”
    Socrates: “How the hell should I know? Don’t you think it would be best to wait a couple of millennia before we search for the answer?”

    Very frustrating…
