I´m currently in lower Dorn´s Deep and tried out the responses to Seth´s challenge for papers after my surprised first attempt with "no papers" was a TPK.

With the knowlegde of speaking to the craftsman snirfneblin and the book of the kraken society I could answer Seth´s questions after I chose the elegant "Uh- what?" response - however is there any advantage to do so instead of fighting through?

After Seth let me through I would have expected some XP for overcoming that obstacle but nothing.

I guess being able to skip a relatively tough battle is it's own reward in a fashion ?
I've recently picked up and finished playing through IWD:EE, but i ran into the bug myself where the thieves start attacking you out of the blue in the north part of the map, even before you've met or talked to seth. had to wait till i met him again in marketh's palace to kill him and loot his +3 dagger :)
