Why does Minsc have more HPs than Abdel?

    Remove all ads!
    Minsc is a level 7 ranger with an 16 Con.
    Abdel is a level 7 fighter with an 18 Con.

    Minsc has 84 HPs
    Abdel has 71 HPs


    Why does Minsc have more HPs?
    Is Boo a familiar. Lol. J/k.

    Shitty level up rolls in hardcore rules is the only thing I can think of. Minsc is maxed out at all perfect HP level rolls.

    So they should both be the same HPs? Or do they have the ranger use an 8HD like in p&p?

    As far as I recall Ranger gets the same d10 like Fighter along with the Paladin also
