God damn it! Of COURSE it's worth buying. It's gonna be a great game, trust me. A bit more hack'n'slash than BG was and very cool. Level 9 spells, almost 2 mil. exp. cap... oh yeah

As if it wouldn't be worth buying.

Yeah,.. I'm a little wary of getting too addicted to on-line games. It's just WAY TOO EASY !!! ;)

Though, isn't icewind free on-line???? until they build a following (probably)

Worlock...IWD won't be any more on-line than BG was (NWN will be more on-line oriented). IWD will have some features that will improve on-line playing, but essentially it's the same as BG.

Taluntain-

cool, i'll check it out when i've exhausted Torment :) Having a little fun with the spells of this game, the graphics really make a difference.

Is this game worth buying...what kind of question is that??? This will actually be my first RPG in a while. I've been off on a TA, Kingdoms, Starcraft, Nox spree. From what I read about Icewind Dale this game is really going to kick some major ass! There's a few articles about the game on www.interplay.com. (http://www.interplay.com.) Just take the link to Icewind Dale.

Off Topic but if you like RTS games you should try earth 2150 - the teams are SO bloody different...one even uses solar power(solar Batteries during the night)
like homeworld....but on land ;) www.earth2150.com (http://www.earth2150.com)

I'd say you have to get IWD. But one question, someone said "9" level spells. I didn't think we'd see them until BG2. I was under the impression that IWD would only go up to about 6th. Is this true?

Yea, some of the opponents will use level nine spells against you.. But you won't be able to memorize em (legit anyway). They will be castable (is that a word?) from the spell scrolls only.
