I can't seem to get my 5th level
thief to backstab anything. I
equip my dagger, hide in the shadows,
sneak up real close to <whatever>,
and attack. Unfortunately, when I
hit, I always seem to do normal
damage. I had no problem having
Annah in PST backstab and I'm doing
nothing different so I'm wondering
what's wrong. Should I be doing
something else and, when I do it
right, should I expect to see a
"3x damage" message together with
some sort of special move?

Thanks,
John

To get the backstab, Have one of you fighters engage the monster from the front, and move your thief to the direct opposite side of your fighter...Your thief should then be right behind the monster
Fighter > O (monster facing fighter) < Thief
>O< (sorry, the best diagram I can make typing) When your cloaked thief attacks from that position, he should backstab if successful on the hit roll. Hope this helps!

The only help I can add is that when you are able to do a backstab you will get the 'backstab' symbol on the cursor.
