I've used NearInfinity to mod IWD1 quite heavily, making it more 3E-ish in a lot of ways. I haven't created any serious bugs but there is one problem. My characters' Strength-related stats, such as their damage bonus and weight allowance, show up as huge numbers on the character sheets, and the maximum weight in their inventory is nearly always wrong and sometimes changes when I add or remove an item. This is NOT a real effect - as far as I can tell from the hit rolls, damage I'm doing, etc the game is actually calculating everything 100% correctly where it counts - it is ONLY a problem with the numbers that display on the screen. Any idea how I would go about fixing this?
For anyone who is interested, the mods I've made are
* More 3E-ish ability score tables
* Almost everyone has more proficiencies and more choices of what to put them in; in addition, I've painstakingly gone through pretty much all the items and changed the "unusable by" lines accordingly. For example, it's possible for a cleric to both take "crossbows" as a proficiency, and actually equip a crossbow. Besides the weapons and armour, I've made it possible for thieves to use selected scrolls and wands (imitating an ability they had in 2E and can get via Use Magic Device skill in 3E), and given clerics and druids access to a few of each other's scrolls.
* Modified the THACO tables to mostly accord with 3E.
* Given everyone a couple of extra hit points at first level, and given thieves a few more down the line as well.
As far as I can tell all of it has gone without a hitch, except for the goofy numbers on screen here and there.
