View Full Version : Need help with POR2 files
Fri, 12th Oct '01, 7:41pm
Some files in my CD are corrupt, and
I keep getting CRC errors when installing them.. I also can't copy them to hard drive and install from there because the installer patch won't recognize it...
could someone send me these files from the 2nd directory? My shop in Melbourne doesn't support returns.
Please email to email@example.com.. thanks

Any shop must at least exchange the game for another, even if they don't support returns, when a CD you get has corrupted data on it. Go there and make a fuss. If it's really corrupted it won't install on their computer either (if they want to test it) and they'll have to either give you money back or give you another game.

believe me, i've tried.
unfortunately, this shopowner essentially gave me a "screw you and kiss my ass" reply, and short of no longer shopping there and pursuing it in small claims court, there's little i can do....
frankly i just want to get started on playing the game - so can anyone help?

I'll send them over to you later today, if the files aren't too big. I'm on dial-up...

Thanks a lot!
The first three files are less than 1 MB each, and the 4th file is about 2MB.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Ok, I'm sending you the files now. Don't know why you had to re-register here on the boards though?

Hey.. just got your email about sending the files. I'm *really* sorry about the hassle regarding your inbox.. I'm currently looking for a free provider that can allow me to recieve an email that big. (my POP3 account only accepts about 4MB or so)
At any rate, my ICQ no is 9887352, if you use ICQ, and I'm still searching.. once again, I'm *really* sorry about any hassle this has caused you.

Sorry I have to post a new topic, but the board wouldn't let me reply twice in a row.
Anyway, I've managed to scrounge a new email address that accepts large file transfers(i've tested it with a 10MB file):
It's only a trial account for a week, but until then, if it's not too much trouble..
well, anyway, whatever happens, thanks for the help, and sorry to have put you out so much.
Newt, if you'd read the FAQ, you'd have noticed there's a reason you can't double post. There's a handy little editing feature you can use to add something to your previous post. Don't start an new thread on the same topic, please. I've moved your post for you. Go read the FAQ: http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/faq.html

Yea, I got your mail. I'd send over ICQ but you were offline, so check your mail.

Anyway, I've gotten the files from Taluntain, so thanks a lot... Sorry about the whole double-posting thing.
