Except from that you had to prioritize your stats points in a different, mroe difficult and cooler way this game is worse than even Baldur's Gate 1 in all ways. I don't like it at all :(. The monsters and characters turning to stick-men when they are behind trees are just silly, and the turn-based combat is just ****. But it's not unplayable though, even if it looks like a really bad Darkstone copy.

yeah mollusken i agree that this game is not good but not because of the reasons you listed.

There's an option to turn that stick men thingy off. Besides, the only reason i play this game is due to turn based combat. I like it however bad implemented it may be :)

I really can't find anything that is really good aobut this game. Turned based combat is ok....but is that really a good reason to play POR? I hope that turned based combat doesn't turn out to be the best thing POR has to offer.

Stat points? I love it. No rolls - you have constant initial amount that you can spread. No rolling over for hours to get stats to 18! :p :p I love it I say!

Turn-based combat ain't ****. But there is a problem with it - getting right-click on your NPC who is behind an enemy. IMPOSSIBLE! Ok, there are always hot keys, but... Somehow... Ok, got used to that too...

Dialogue system is only thing I can agree with - it sucks so much that it can't suck more!

Besides, why don't you send your suggestions to SSI - they probably make the sequel with better dialog system.

All in all, if you want d&d game, turn-based, dungeon crawling, bloodshed, etc etc, get it.

If you want game to think how to solve something, get Arcanum or Anachronox. Or Planescape:Torment if you haven't played it before.

i cant agree with mollusken more i even found diablo 2 a better game then this, at least i didnt have to get teh patch jus to install it. however after installing it and realising how pathetic the turn-based system is you hsould look at arcanums turn-based system, on/off if your lazy or want your npcs to do all the work, its point-based (each action costs points on your point total, you go til you run out) and you can skip you turn instead of waiting a whole god damn minute when you dont want to move because it provokes an attack of oppertuinity. lastly let me remark on the movement, and how it takes like 3 hours to move across the entire screen. more flame i know dont tell m

LOL, the game is so damned boring...I expected as the first one with 3rdE rules to be more fun, to be real RPG, what it is, IMHO, is a bad mix between adventure and RPG. Where the good games as Torment are going to come ?

It is Arcanum and Anachronox. Get any of these two. Both are asskicking.
And not only that. Every night in chatroom when Wildfire finds out something new and types it (I finished both so I saw mainly all Wildfire's stuff), I just say that I'll commit a suicide if NWN beats that.

And PoR? The problem is not in the rules, I assure you. The only good part of the game are rules. Weird, I say that about the rules I hate. But nevermind, the rules don't make good game. I hope that finally after PoR it is obvious.
