View Full Version : These forums used to be great...
Ramone Sun, 21st Oct '01, 7:28pm Its sad that most of the people who write in this forum are just complaining about the fact that the game as bugs. Where are the people who really play and like that game? I tought this forum should be for these people, not for the one who dont like the game.
So, in the future, for hints and good discussions about the game, I will go on the official PoR forums.
Big B Sun, 21st Oct '01, 8:22pm Discussion of this game in this forum is limited since most of the people registered to these boards don't have this game yet or may never get this game. I haven't decided yet whether I will get it or not. Now that the game is out, people can justly criticize it or glorify it. Both are done here, I don't see what the problem is.

Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor
For posts concerning Stormfront Studios' Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor. Comments and questions welcome!
Extremist Sun, 21st Oct '01, 10:27pm Ramone, do you really believe bugs are not the hottest topic on official forum?
Besides, how will SSI/WOTC know where are the bugs? You don't still think like I did that testers' job is to detect and report bugs? Players have to complain, otherwise bugs won't be removed!
Do what you want. Eventually you'll see that there is no other place on the net like SP. Too bad SP covers only d&d :( :sosad:  :wail: *beg* *pray*
Taluntain Sun, 21st Oct '01, 11:22pm Ramone, have you even been to the official forums at all? As Extremist said, 90% (probably more) of people who post there complain about how bad the game turned out. It's very unfortunate that the majority of the people have little good to say about the game, but that's not our or their fault. It's just how things are. Thank Stormfront for that.
It might pick up when the game is released for the rest of the world, and patched...

Crawl Mon, 22nd Oct '01, 5:42am Tal makes a very good point. A large portion of the posters on these boards are from Europe and the UK. Likely one the patched version of the game comes out there, more people will try it. And I'm sure once the game is patched here in the US, some folks (perhaps even myself) will drop their hard feelings toward UbiSoft/Stormfront and buy the game. I'm sure I eventually will. There isn't a whole lot out there I've seen to choose from right now.
Ramone Mon, 22nd Oct '01, 5:52am But on the official boards, there is people who play the game, with who you can exchange about in-game. Exchange some hints, etc etc.
Vormaerin Mon, 22nd Oct '01, 7:09am Ramone,
You are free to do as you wish, of course. However, I notice that the few questions actually asked here were answered, so I don't know what your problem is.
The game isn't drawing the level of posting that the other forums get because, frankly, its not very good. Maybe they will be able to fix that with patches, but I doubt it.
Aloha

Extremist Tue, 23rd Oct '01, 12:41am Wait a minute, I don't remember telling that PoR sucks!!!
IIRC I said it has the worst installer I saw in years. Don't you tell me this ain't true.
The game itself I find playable (for now) - no "disaster" bugs I found yet although I heard of corrupted saves.
The only thing that is "thorn in my side" is damned d&d I know nothing about... Hmmm, but rules don't make the game - fun does. So, far, it's been fun...
However, I haven't finished the game yet and I definetly can't give my rate on it. But I can say this - I liked Arcanum more! Ask me why ;) :p
