I don't know if patches fix this but in the first chapter after Aribeth gave me the instructions I kept asking her about the Stone of Recall and she kept giving me 100 gold to buy healing potions as if I was talking to her for the first time

We've noticed this back when we were beta testing. I don't know if it's fixed for single player, but it's intentional for multi so that all players that join the game can get the same starting conditions.

Sadly it's fixed :(
