hiya. Im havin some serious problems. I have e lvl7 bard and im doing the first chapter where i have to collect all the four item for some cure. i got all the items and i have talked to Aribeth and we are to go to a room to get the cure. when i continue there is a problem. it says player login failed - chose a character or something.. i dont play multiplayer, neither online or anything i just play the good ol' campaign. So i chose a new character but its only lvl1! wtf.. and im supposed to kick their asses in there!? WITH A LVL1 CHARACTER!!!??? this is killing me.. seriously. wtf shall i do? please help a girl in pain!

I'm not sure how that could have happened in single-player... but regardless, I hope you have a saved game with your level 7 character, otherwise you'll probably have to recreate it. Since I'm not sure what exactly is happening in your game, you can always export the current character and then use it whenever you need to for some reason. Of course, it'll only have as much XP and items as at the point when you've exported it.

Is there any chance that you used some cheat codes? I believe that if you cheat out much of anyhting that you have to change a file in your nwnplayer.ini file. I will check and get back to you.

{edit} All right I'm back, and yes I was right. If you cheated anything you hve to modify this(Single Player Enforce Legal Characters=0) to this (Single Player Enforce Legal Characters=1). Leave off the "()". If you don't know how to modify the file it is easy. Do a search for "files and folders" for "nwnpalyer.ini", scroll down until you see the line mentioned above and change the "0" to "1". If that doesn't work I have no idea what the problem is.

Brallrock: thnx u too! i havnt cheated, not that i can remember anyways.. cheating is bad! :D but i can check it out with this file-thingy. maybe somethin happened.. :S

You can export your character in-game via the the window with all the options... I think Esc brings it up. There should be a button to export the character either there or a bit deeper into the menus.

I think it actually says save character instead of export, but it does the same thing.

ok.. i found the button! yay! BUT! the problem still exist.. BUT (again :) it says character invalid - player login failed.. :< not what i wrote before.. may this have somethin to do with me havin a sub race character? another odd thing is when i quit the game it looks like im quitting a multiplayer session.. is that weird? im not playing multiplayer. :S what is there to do? :< *squeek* help!

Which patch do you have installed? The number will be in the top left corner of the game launcher screen.

The current version is 1.66. Try updating.

Maybe you'll have to have a stable internet connection while playing. If I don't lock my personal firewall, the game automatically logs me in for internet play.
