(yeah, I finally got the game running so I have a bevy of questions ;) )
Working with an elvish ranger and noticed that one of the options for favored enemy is HUMANS. I was thinking that this could be a great choice! Most of the really hard fights that I've run into in other games were against regual people (remember the sewer group in BG2?), and from a role-playing perspective, I'm sure you can think of a thousand scenarios where an elvish ranger would have a bloodlust for humans.
Any thoughts?

First off... CONGRATS on being able to play NWN (finally!). :) Did you have to buy anything? :money:?
See you when ALFA opens... :borg:
As for the RP perspective...
"The sylvan warrior glared at the smelly louts with contempt. The humans were obviously bigger, and no doubt stronger than most of his kin. But he was a ranger, and these defilers of the forest, these bandits who freely worked with Gr'Thad, the hobgoblin chief, will not rise to see another day in this part of the woods.
Recalling the lessons of his mentor, he mentally calculated the distance he had to cover to reach the campfire. He had no wish to waste his arrows on these talking apes, as he could easily wade in their midst, as humans were clumsy fighters. Trust a human to flail his weapons at a shorter, faster creature with the same amount of force needed to punch a hole in a tree...
As he silently waited for the right moment, his thoughts drifted to the years he had spent protecting the woods from human encroachment, and the numerous battles he had participated in. These humans brought death wherever they went, for only a primitive, violent race would constantly make war with themselves. Humans would be the end of these great woods, no matter what the elders said about those new prophets and their grove. "Druids", the elders called them...
A loud thunk brought him back from his reverie. Two of the humans were desecrating an oak with a game of daggers! Fury raged within the ranger, and with the silent smoothness that would rival a wood cat, he stalked toward the unsuspecting group..."

I dunno Mat, but thinking back to the fights I've had a tough time on as a Ranger, I don't think many have been human. Perhaps some magic users, but with dual wielding, I don't usually give them much of a chance to complete their spells.
But there's no reason you shouldn't choose Human if that's what you want.
