Did a search here and couldn't find any info on the subject.

My panther constantly attacks locked doors and chests. Is there a command I can give it to keep him from doing this all the time? (I couldn't find one in the radial menu.) I have Tomi and he does a fine job picking locks. Having to stop my panther from attacking a locked door or chest every time I come across one is becoming a real pain in the butt.

It shouldn't do that... Try talking to it, maybe there's an option to turn it off. I know I didn't have this problem with my panther when I played NWN...

Well thanks for the speedy reply but no luck. The commands via talking to it don't change my situation. The only command that works is from the radial menu...'Stand Your Ground', but that really doesn't help because it just follows orders and 'stands it's ground'.

Checked the official web site and didn't see this as a know bug. I'm running SoU version 1.61. Maybe I'm missing something. Ahh well I've got stopping it from attacking down to a tee by now so I can get by.

I have a similar problem with my panther. It doesn't attack the door until I start unlocking it, but then it continues to attack the door until it is destroyed, regardless of me having opened it and gone through it. It's highly annoying, since I need the panther for helping me fight the nasties in the room, instead of attacking the open door.

IIRC you can tell it not to, just like your henchmen but only in HotU.

yeah, I think you can speak with them, and say "don't try to open things" if you have HOtU, so that would be a solution if you had the cash to drop on the expansion. Other than that, I would recommend putting the "stand your ground", "follow me", and "attack nearest" commands in one of your shortcut menus. Easiest if you put them on the far right side, because then you just hit F1 to make them stop, F2 to follow, and F3 to attack. Also, the "attack nearest" command 'should' make them follow you into the room and attack the badies in there, as long as you can see them. Hope that helps!
