IIRC Erran, the Bread Recipie is a quest item for....Tomi i think, or one of the Henchmen anyway. Just like Grimgnaw needs a silver ring etc etc.
The Fire Beetles belly and Gargoyles skull are both used to make magical items, just like Adamantite.

The Bread Recipe can be found in the Docks district, in the Bloodsailors secret hideout. Beneath the Seedy Tavern IIRC.

The bread recipe (sp) is in the beggers nest, in one of the baracaded houses on, shock horror, a baker :p

That worthless ring and bread recipe has bothered me for a while to :p.

The recipe is definitely for Boddynock's quest...I think the ring is for Grimnaw's (the dwarf monk) but I can't remember...

It's pretty easy to figure out what quest items are... Anything that otherwise would have a value if sold, but doesn't (0 gp), is a quest item. Either a ring, piece of paper etc.

The Gargoyle Skull can be used at Marrock's Forge to make an item. I don't believe the Fire Beetle's Belly can be used to forge but I "think" it can be used to make spells or something like that later on but I was never a spellcaster so I never used it.

I'm gonna clean this up once and for all:

The gargoyles skull is used to make a junky type of magic armour (some type of magic leather I believe).

The leaven bread recipe is for Boddyknock's quest.

The fire beetles belly is used in act2, Eltoora (the person for wizarding supplies who seems to follow you from act1 to act2) requires a fire beetle belly or another rare reagent for a spell as sort of payment to have a look at the stuff she's selling.

Actually, the armor made with the Gargoyle Skull is not "junky" at all. It is the Whitebone armor, total AC 9.

So where IS the recipe?

All the forge recipes can be gotten by talking to Marrok in chapter one or the smith in chapter 3.

Its the mage item recipes that are scattered all over creation.
