Just wondering if one would be able to revert the rules back to 2nd edition (I was a big fan of 2nd)? Also, I hear that you will be allowed to "join" 2 worlds together, anyone know how that will work?

It's possible to do some things in NWN and go back to using the older rules for 2nd Edition but that would require lots of scripts within the game to be written for the desired effect you want.

Scripting will be much like C++ but they assured us it would be easy to learn to do basic things. As for wanting to say, run a particular script only when a particular player logs onto the server, that can still be done, but may very well be for a more advanced scripter to write.

My main concern and what I want in a script for my server is to be able to write a log file to the drive and have a Perl script read that file and know who's online in real time. Then send that information to the servers Web Home Page so people can know who's online and when.

As for joining two persistant worlds together, it will be much like zoning in EQ. Simply create a portal at the edge of the server or area you wish to attach and send that portal to the new IP or host # of the new world/server you want your players to be sent to.

Koyo if you have nothing to add to an existing topic but "bump" and pointless banter, keep it to yourself. We don't tolerate crap posters here.

Don't blame him, he is a bit of an goof ball! ;)

But yeah Koyo, keep it down to a minimum. Try adding some spam to your good posts, I know you're a smart guy.
